No fireworks on 4th of July...?

Sadly, it's true. There will be no fireworks for ANYONE in Colorado for the 4th of July.
We had a huge pack of fireworks that we bought last year on clearance, and now we won't be able to use them. My brother goes to this "Police Explorers Program" every Thursday night, so when my dad dropped my brother off, he asked the officer if we can still do sparklers, poppers, and anything else. The police officer said, "Nope! Because the level of the fires here in Colorado, it's to dangerous right now, so we're going to have to write a ticket out for anyone we catch doing fireworks whether illegal or legal. So, we'd appreciate it if you'd spread the word around to anyone you know."

So, we are banned from seeing any fireworks or doing any fireworks. What's fourth of July going to be without Fireworks?

The fires are driving me crazy! It's so sad that the fires that are down here in Colorado...that some of them were started on purpose...so sad!
The one thing that I love about my brother being with the police force all the time, is that we get new information about certain things. In this instance, it's the fires. I guess there have been a few people impersonating firemen to rob people's houses after they had been
evacuated. Thankfully they were caught... : )

The fire started getting so close to us that my mom started saying, "Maybe we should put some important things in the car right now just in case we need to be evacuated." So far, we haven't been evacuated, but hey, only God knows.

My mom asked me what I would take with me if we had to be evacuated...I would take, my Bible study/Bible, a quilt my grandma made me for my graduation that has my closest friends posted on it, my computer which has all my stories and such on it, and my Violin/Fiddle probably.
What would you take if you had let's say 30 minutes to evacuate your house?

Broken Glass/shattered dreams

Broken Glass/shattered dreams:
I took this picture in Missouri when I was on my trip...

You must be wondering why I took this picture...well as you can see, it’s a window that is shattered and broken into pieces. If you look closely, there was some tape that used to be over the cracks…the reason I took a pictures of this is because it reminded me of my life, and so many others.

You see, as our life goes on, we will have broken hearts, people that fail us, bills that need to be paid, a debt that’s over our ears. Little by little, our heart will break apart, stressing over this or that. However, just like this window that was pieced together by duck tape, so God is to us. He covers up those little pieces that have broken or fallen apart, and fills us with contentment, joy, and peace. For what may seem ugly on the outside, is beauty on the inside and outside for God. He looks at the heart…and what’s in the heart will reflect on the outward appearance.



Over time, our pieces start to fall apart, but guess what? God is right there beside us picking up the broken pieces and putting them back together…yes, it may take time, but God will be there beside you every step of the way.



So, let’s give our broken pieces to God…and not just our broken pieces, but our broken hearts, dreams, and desires. Let’s stand back, and watch the Master fix the unfixable!

Fire!!!

Fire!!! There are, as of what I know 6 fires in Colorado...2 of which are within 45 minutes of us...scary! One in Colorado Springs area, and the other one in Fort Collins...I've been thinking...We all know that God ordained where the fire goes before it even starts...so, why now? Why here? I don't know about you, but maybe it's time for America to wake up!!! Wake up with the fact that not only is God in control, but he is Sovereign over everything!!!

Our pastor told us that the state of Colorado has more divorce rates than any other state in America...let's think about this for a minute...in the Bible when the Israelites were being taken into the wilderness, it says over and over and over again, "...They did what was right in their own eyes". Could it be that this is happening again? Could it be that God is giving a wake up call as a warning?

Today we found out that a few of our friends are being evacuated from their homes because of the fires. I remember our first fire that we had in our backyard...

We had been going to our church for about 10 months, and it was in the middle of March 2010 and we had been invited to go to a friends house after church for a meal. They lived about 1 hour away, so we drove down there after church. About a hour or so after we got there, my dad got a call from our neighbor..."You barn is on fire! The Firemen have it almost out." Quickly my dad got some more information...they had no idea what
happened...but we did! We live in a small neighborhood (yes, we can have chickens) and we had at the time 4 chickens. My mom was very cautious about them getting cold, so we had a heat lamp in their little house at all times in the winter. We think that one of the chickens flew up onto the clip on heat lamp and knocked it down, thus making the fire. The fire burned down our shed, our neighbors bushes, a few of our trees, and also some of our garden. It also managed to get a chicken burned a little. (enough to where it not only was shaken up from the experience, but was blind for a few weeks. We didn't think she would make it.) Apparently our neighbor was taking a walk, when he saw our shed was on fire. He took some quick action, called the firemen, and had many neighbors helping in the mean time getting the chickens to safety.

So...yes, we lost almost everything valuable in that shed. We decided that since the Firemen had it under control at our house, there was no use going back home, so we might as well enjoy the time with our friends. We had windows that we accidentally ordered that the insurance payed us back for, a bunk-bed, some of my mom's antiques, and quite a lot of other things. Guess what? (It was a blessing in Disguise) The insurance covered everything that was damage!!! (times 10!...it seemed like!) We decided to help a few friends out financially, save money towards silver, savings, and of course tithing and other things. God blessed us richly.

So, my point? We may not always see what God is doing...but the end result? (no you may not end up getting money in the end) A closer walk with God!
So, trust him, even when it's to foggy to see ahead!

A Miracle

As many of you know, I got asked by a very good friend of mine to be at the birth of their 8th child. Wow! That was the most amazing experience of my life! It is incredible the way God designed the Human body, and the little baby inside! I saw a full hand-up close experience of a little baby being born. Let me tell you, it's not at all what I saw parts of in the movies. Even though Andie had an epidural, she was very calm! And announcing...

After we got to the hospital, Tali, Ashley and I sat talked and read for a few hours while Andie was having contractions. It all happened so fast! The nurse came in and all the sudden, Ashley got up from her chair, and that told me that it was time. Ashley is a doula (pronounced "doó la",also known as a labour coach and originating from the Ancient Greek word δούλη meaning female servant or slave) is a nonmedical person who assists a woman before, during, or after childbirth, as well as her partner and/or family by providing information, physical assistance, and emotional support.)

so, as she got up from her chair, I knew it was time...! The nurses got everything ready, and voila!...It was done! Little Owen is so adorable! I watched the other Davidson kids today, and when Scott and Andie came home from the hospital, I got to hold him again!!! Wow! To think that God created such an amazing little human being! It brings me to Psalm 139:13-18,

"For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.
I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;
Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand.
When I awake, I am still with You.

The Super Conference!

Hi Everyone! Sorry for not posting in forever!
The Super Conference (or CHEC Conference) is something that our family look forward to every single year!!! It's a time when we get to listen to speakers without
interruption, talk to friends old and new, and shop around for books, audio, movies, and other fun things. And yes, spend money...! Thursday was the first day, and it was so exciting! I barely got any sleep the night before because I was so excited. I was a volunteer for the conference the last few years, and wanted to do so again. So I helped the,"Gibas" family with preparing the meals, for the speakers, volunteers, and those who payed for it.

I love to serve, so this was an amazing opportunity! I had a wonderful time talking to all the girls/moms there.
Ken Ham, Kevin Swanson, and a few others were the main speakers...amazing! My dad did a silent Auction Fundraiser while we were there, and we made over $2,000 for CHEC!!!

I had a wonderful time!!! I even got to hold some new babies!
Saturday, I received some wonderful news! I help this family out whom has 7 kids (1 on the
way until tomorrow) and she wants me to be at the birth!!! I am so excited! I'll let you know how it all goes...I'll post more later.

The Love of Money

You've heard it said, "The love of money is the root of all evil." So, why is it so hard to apply it?
Sometimes we get so greedy with the money that's been given to us, or that we worked so hard to earn. Maybe we saved up for weeks/months/years to buy something...but when it comes down to it...would you be willing to give it up in order for someone else? Sometimes we don't realize that we have a love for money...it's all in us. Yes, we love money!

1st Timothy 6:9-11 "9 But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.11 But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love,perseverance and gentleness."

Over the last few weeks, I have had to have money for my trip, my sister's birthday, our annual CHEC Conference coming up this week, and my brother's birthday next week. Even though I would love to just buy my siblings a little candy bar and a pack of gum...I find it so much better to give then to receive! However, I must confess, I took my sister out to eat for lunch today for her birthday, and I honestly couldn't even finish half of my burger. Austin (my brother) was the only at the house today besides my mom and Elijah, and so, he wanted the left overs...but I didn't want to share! I had paid for that with my own money...why should I have to share? Well, I went out to water the grass, and God convicted me. I gave my lunch to Austin, with an accepting heart. Giving is not always what we want, but in the end...God always wants it!

You never know...

Last night, our family had quite a terrifying moment. I had just come back from the store, and my dad had to take my brother, “Austin” to the hardware store, and he took “Joy” too, because she wanted to go. About thirty minutes later, I get a call from my dad, “Let mom know that it will be a while until we get out of Lowe’s…” I asked, “Why?” he said, “I guess there’s a tornado warning, so the Lowe’s employees won’t let anyone leave. They are having everyone go into the office where there are no windows. There is a lot of hail outside, and you can hear it on the roof.”
After I got off the phone with him, I told my mom, and guess what she did? Yep! She freaked out! It was just Elijah myself and my mom home, so we tried to go online, go onto the radio, everything we could to find out where the tornado was heading…we hid in the little “Toy Room” downstairs that has no windows, just a light.
No, nothing ended up happening, but it got me to thinking…what if a tornado had come? Would I be satisfied if my Bible were the only thing that survived out of my “stuff”? Would I care if anything else was gone? Sometimes, we can be so satisfied on a certain “object”, that we miss the satisfaction of the freedom to read the bible. In some countries, they can’t even read the Bible without being thrown in prison or beaten. I am so blessed!!!

I sat in bed, drifting off to sleep watching the lightening in the clouds that night. God is so marvelous!!!



Job 36:27-29, 33-33, 37: 2-5
"For he draws up the drops of water; they distill his mist in rain, which the skies pour down and drop on mankind abundantly. Can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds, the thunderings of his pavilion?...He covers his hands with the lightning and commands it to strike the mark. It's crashing declares his presence, the cattle also declare that he rises...Keep listening to the thunder of his voice and the rumbling that comes from his mouth. Under the whole heaven he lets it go, and his lightning to the corners of the earth. After it his voice roars; he thunders with his majestic voice, and he does not restrain the lightnings when his voice is heard. God thunders wondrously with his voice; he does great things that we cannot comprehend. For to the snow he says, 'Fall on the earth,' likewise to the downpour, his mighty downpour...He loads the thick cloud with moisture; the clouds scatter his lightning. They turn around and around by his guidance, to accomplish all that he commands them on the face of the habitable world. Whether for correction or for his land or for love, he causes it to happen."

Children are a blessing!

This last week we received some wonderful news from our friends, the "Clapp's"...she's pregnant again! You see, about 2 years ago, they had a reversal after praying to God about it and realizing that children are a blessing. After they had their reversal, Mrs. Clapp got pregnant, about a month and a half or so later. Little "William Courage Clapp" was born on April 11th 2012! He was adorable! Well, this last week, they found out that they were pregnant again!!!
Joy filled my heart as I read the email!


My mother and father also had a reversal. They had 3 children after that (1 of which was a stillborn) but after having the 3 children, my mother didn't want to have to deal with deaths and sicknesses with the child again, so my dad got fixed. To this day, my mom regrets of their decision to stop having children. That's why we adopted! Because we loved children so
much that it was hard not to want them!


In Today's culture, children aren't a blessing...in fact, it's sadly a curse for a lot of people..."it's another mouth to feed" or "I can't do this or that if I have a baby"...we are a selfish people!
Let's look at some of my favorite verses...

Psalm 127:3-5, "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate."

Psalm 139:13-16, "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them."
